Individual and Relationship Therapy
Therapy is a unique experience for each of us. The length of time in therapy, the material shared and worked with, the goals, the reasons for coming and reasons for staying in therapy all vary person by person. My focus with each client is to work towards long term healing by exploring the roots of suffering.
Currently my work is primarily with adolescents, adults and romantic relationships. Weather you are in a transitional period looking for temporary support, or wanting more long term healing, it would be an honor to join with you as you take the steps to living a more fulfilling life.
At different times in their journey, I have found that clients are able to benefit from different therapy approaches, such as: Psychotherapy (talk therapy), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Guided Meditations, Cognitive Behavioral, Psychoanalytic. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all therapy. Just as you are a unique individual, with many complex parts that make up who you are, the types of therapy that work for you will also be unique. It is important to find a therapist and a therapy that fits for you. I collaborate with my clients to figure out how they can best be served in therapy, and provide referrals to other therapists in the community when I am not the best fit.
An important aspect of my work is bridging social justice with therapeutic service. For me, this means honoring each persons various identities and the realities that come with holding various intersecting identities (i.e.: LGBTQIA, polyamorous, race and cultural, ability, etc.). Therapy can be a place to not only address our individual suffering, but the relationship between our pain and systemic social, political, and community pain.
